Umuyove Trail | Mahogany Hike in Nyungwe Forest

UMUYOVE TRAIL – Umuyove Trail, also known as the Mahogany Trail, is a relatively short trail in Nyungwe Forest National Park, covering a total distance of 5.5 km. The hike on Umuyove Trail starts at the Uwinka Reception Center and ends up at Buhoro Trailhead. It is a scenic route worth hiking during your visit to Nyungwe Forest National Park if you have a few hours to spare.

The best time to go hiking on the Umuyove Trail in Nyungwe Forest National Park is during the dry season in Rwanda, which is divided into two: the short dry season from December to February and the long dry season from June to September. The trail is much drier and less slippery, making for a smooth and enjoyable hiking experience in Nyungwe.
