There will be a few stopovers along the way for lunch and a short visit to the King’s Palace. Proceed to Nyungwe, arriving in the afternoon.

Check into your lodge, and then go for the afternoon canopy walk for stunning aerial views of the forest, birds, and some primates.

Enjoy the sights and sounds as you trek the walkway.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Cultural Tour

Today, you will be up early, have breakfast, and drive to the headquarters of Nyungwe, where you will meet other visitors and the park rangers for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking.

You will be allocated to a group and then enter the forest.

Chimpanzees are among the 13 different primate species in Nyungwe Forest, so as you trek, you may spot other monkeys like silver monkeys, black and white colobus, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.

Spend an hour with the playful apes, then return from the forest and drive back to your lodge for lunch.
