ANIMALS IN NYUNGWE – Nyungwe Forest National Park is home to one of the oldest montane rainforests in Central Africa, and this forest hosts a variety of animal and bird species, butterflies, and reptiles, among others.
It is one of the four national parks in Rwanda where you can see wildlife in their natural habitats.
Over 70 mammals have been recorded in Nyungwe Forest, and unlike the various primate species, other animals in the park are rarely encountered as they stay deep in the untapped parts of the dense Nyungwe Forest jungle.
